General Data Protection Regulations

(GDPR) The General Protection Regulation came into effect on 25th May 2018.

What Data do we process?

You give Andover Towing your data when making enquiries for our assistance in relation to your towing requirements and/or other needs, when committing to have work carried out by Andover Towing and/or requesting Andover Towing to produce a vehicle registration plate for you.  This information could be provided by e-mail, over the phone, face to face, through social media or any other form of contact.  This information includes;

  • Name, address and contact details, including telephone number and e-mail address
  • Vehicle details to include vehicle licence plate number and relating document references
  • Identity document numbers including but not limited to driving licence number, passport number etc

Information is provided for this sole purpose and Andover Towing commits that it will not be used for marketing purposes or shared with third parties unless legally obliged.  With the exception of during their NTTA QS Annual Inspection when the NTTA may contact past customers to ensure good work practice has been received from Andover Towing.

We also maintain a record of your transaction with us, but we do not store your payment card number (although we store the last four digits to help us identify transactions).

Where will Data be stored?

Data could be stored in a range of different places within our internal office system, IT systems (including e-mail) and finance systems where applicable.

Who has access to data?

Your information is for internal use only and for the sole purpose of meeting your enquiry and/or job requirements, and as required to official agencies including the NTTA, DVLA, HMRC to ensure good working practice or as legally obliged.

How do we protect your data?

We take the security of your data seriously.  Your data is always held securely and access to customer information is strictly controlled.  Our website is SSL Certified, which means that all incoming and outgoing information is encrypted, office computers are password secured and all paper records are stored in a locked office and are either shredded or burnt when disposed of.

How long is data kept for?

Please note that for accounting purposes Andover Towing are required to keep hold of customer invoices which contain personal data for up to 7 years and number plate record sheets, which again contain personal data, will be held for at least 3 years for DVLA purposes.
